Tasting Information:

Wine selections are pre-determined and normally published to our website prior to the event when time permits. The number of wines tasted will range between 4 - 6 different wines in palette order. If you require a second taste or would like a specialized tasting selection, you will be able to purchase a wine flight of three additional tastings.

Wine Tastings are a great way to expand your palate, find new wines that you have never experienced before and meet great new friends that share your same passion for wine.

Our Wines are all artisan / boutique wines and simply put means non-mass produced wines. Our winemakers are in it for the love, passion and art of wine making and often have passed their wineries down in their families from generation to generation. These wines will not be found in any grocery or package stores and the quality comes shining through, which is another great reason to attend a wine tasting.

Bring your friends for a fun and relaxing evening and taste the latest additions to our wine portfolio. Reservations are requested and cover is required.

Cover will be $15 at the door or $10 if you pay cover online up to 12 hours prior to the event per person. Each person will receive cover cash for the amount paid and the cover cash is good only during the event for store purchases (excluding additional flight tastings). Any cover cash not used during the event will be non-refunded and the surrendered amount will go towards the cost of tasting. Château Roumieu AOC Sauternes 375ML - France - $28.99

photo chateau roumieu chateau roumieu jp 8a4f4e6Chateau Roumieu is a family-owned property passed down from generation to generation since the 18th century. The name “Roumieu” refers to an important stage along the ancient pilgrimage route of “Saint-Jacques de Compostelle”, or St. James’ Way, back in medieval times – when “Roumieu” was used by the Moors to describe the Christians. A scallop shell, adopted as the Chateau’s emblem, features on the label, as “Saint-Jacques” is the French word for scallop.

The Château is located on the calcareous-clay plateau of Haut-Barsac, on the same terroir as the most prestigious Cru wines of Sauternes, with Climens (1st cru) and Doisy-Védrines (2nd cru) both adjoining the property.

Over the years, the Craveia-Goyaud family has committed to protect the unique character of the terroir. The vines are managed to irreproachable standards, guided by a sustainable viticultural regime and restricted yields. In order to make the finest wine possible, the grapes at Château Roumieu are painstakingly picked by hand one by one, in successive sweeps through the vine rows, with sometimes as many as 3-6 sweeps per block, picking only the grapes 100% affected by botrytis.

The wine is then slowly vinified and matured in oak barrels for 18 months.

This Sauternes is remarkable for its very fine, complex bouquet with aromas of candied fruit, honey and acacia. On the palate, the wine reveals good structure and is wonderfully supple and fleshy.

Blend

20% Muscadelle, 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Sémillon
