Gateway Vinho Verde
Nothing quenches the thirst on a hot, muggy day better than cool, refreshing Vinho Verde. New to our palates is this delicious rendition from Gateway. A blend of indigenous Trajadura, Loureiro, Arinto and Azal hailing from Vinho Verde’s Amarante sub-region, Gateway’s Vinho Verde casts a pale lemon-gold color from the glass, highlighted by glints of green. Fresh and inviting on the nose, the wine presents crisp lemon-lime fruit complemented by suggestions of green apple, acacia and wintergreen.
Crisp on the palate, the wine’s sweet apple and green melon fruit is countered by brisk citric acidity and complemented by suggestions of white flowers. The Vinho Verde finishes clean and refreshing. Whether for pairing with seafood dishes or just for enjoying by itself, Vinho Verde is the value play in summertime white wine.
