Grape Harvest Celebration with Extended Wine Tasting Selections Saturday, September 09, 2018 (6-8pm)
We are canceling this years Grape Harvest Festival due to possible impacts from Hurricane Florence, so we have changed our event to a larger than normal wine tasting with additional samples to help celebrate this season of grape picking. It is the beginning our some great wines to come.
Look for a total of 10 wines to try this Saturday Night! Please Enjoy and Drink Responsibly! We encourage all event participants to have a designated driver or please use a Uber or Lyft.
The Annual Grape Harvest Festival will return in 2019.
Tasting Selections:
Evolucio Furmint is a delightful white wine gem from the Tokaj region of Hungary, renowned for its dessert wines. In this wine the same Furmint grape is used to produce a crisp, dry refreshing white perfect for spring and summer enjoyment. If you've never tasted a dry Furmint from Hungary, this is your chance to discover a great new wine!
Evolucio is 100% Furmint, unoaked. Aromatic and richly flavorful, this crisp white is bursting with citrus, green apples, apricots, floral and mineral notes. The palate is slightly off-dry, ripe with rich flavors of stone fruits and citrus. It is long and flavorful on the dry finish.
Enjoy Evolucio Furmint over the next 3-4 years on the porch with friends or paired with roast chicken, grilled snapper, Thai dishes, Cobb salad and goat cheese.

The Six Hats brand is built around a concept that seeks to highlight the various roles and responsibilities that are assumed by all parties involved in progressive and equitable wine farming. Here, each hat stands for Partnership, Change, Potential, Equity, Dignity and Sustainability. Fair Trade Certified, this is a classic New World Shiraz with clean notes of peppery, jammy red / black berries and a dollop of cocoa on the finish. Juicy and forward, just easy to drink and more, a wine you can feel good about drinking! Pair with lamb dishes and pasta with rich tomato-y sauces.
Shiraz
We'd like to clear this up once and for all: the Shiraz grape is genetically identical to Syrah. Australian winemakers put "Shiraz" on the map (and, many would argue, vice versa), and the term is now used throughout much of the New World. Let it never be said, however, that Shiraz and Syrah are the same thing: the region in which the grape is grown determines much about the flavor of the wine it will produce. Typically, New World Shiraz yields bigger, fruitier wines than the the peppery Syrahs produced in the cool climates of the Rhône Valley.

Sangue di Giuda translates to Blood of Judah. This wonderful sparkling red wine is sinfully sweet!
This naturally sparkling wine has an intense crimson-red color and produced from a combination of Croatina (60%), Barbera (20%), Ughetta (10%), Uva rara (10%) (autochthonous grape varieties). It contains a very fruity fragrance that includes crushed berries, dark plums and black cherries. The wine has good acidity, which balances its sweetness. It has a delicate, fresh, and fruity taste that is best enjoyed while the wine is young.
Exceptional with fruit tarts, almond desserts and fine pastries.

The “OH MY GOSH” champagne, because that is typically people’s first reaction after tasting it.
Naturally fermented, with pure almond flavor added. A unique sparkling wine that is appreciated by Champagne lovers. Yet, those who do not normally like Champagne find the Almond Champagne accessible and enjoyable. In short, the experts like it, and Champagne novices are surprised by it.
Pairs well with mild creamy cheeses such as Brie and apricot shilton cheese. serve with light chicken, pork or seafood dishes. Great with desserts such as cheesecake, fruit tarts, and truffles. Goes wonderfully with brunch foods such as fresh fruit, crepes, and soufflés.
Many have also enjoyed the Almond Champagne with hot tubs, romantic dinners, picnics, and warm fireplaces.
